Mantra is a  numinous sound, a syllable, word or phonemes, or group of words whose vibration can exert influence on something. For example, when we simply chant “aaaa…”, its vibrations can be felt in the stomach and chest. And when we chant ‘UUUUU…’ the vibrations can be felt in the throat and chest, when we chant ‘mmmmm…..’ we can feel the vibrations in our facial region and brain.

What happens when we combine these sounds of Aaaa Uuuuu Mmmmm, we get AUM or OM, and as you will chant AUM.. you can feel the vibrations rising from your lower belly to your brain. There is nothing religious or indian about it, any one can chant OM. Any one can chant the syllables.
