To keep one’s light constant, it is necessary to apply the oil of meditation and spiritual knowledge. When we meditate, we ignite our inner light and the darkness is automatically dispelled. Diwali is often described as the Festival of Lights and the meaning of light here is a symbol of enlightenment and new life. On this Diwali let us awaken our inner light and let the journey of life be a luminous one. Awaken meaning is to look towards greater, nobler and higher things.
Now it is time to light the lamps of knowledge and truth in our hearts and minds and dispel the forces of darkness and ignorance within us and allow our innate brilliance and goodness to shine forth. Let us cultivate and accumulate spiritual wealth, such as love, compassion, forgiveness and kindness.
Let us not only celebrate with outside lights of Diwali festival but also concentrate some time in meditation to experience the inner lights and experience eternal ecstasy, peace and joy. That is the true celebration of Diwali.
“All the lights of the world cannot be compared even to a ray of the inner light of the self. Merge yourself in this light of lights and enjoy the Supreme Deepavali.”
