Guru is made up of 2 words – Gu and Ru . Gu means Darkness and Ru Means light. Guru is the one who guides us and takes us from darkness to light. In ancient Vedic Scriptures, Guru has been treated has God. And to really learn and to take that knowledge from your Guru, you have to completely and holy surrender to your Guru, to your teacher. Here are few Mantra which are dedicated to the Guru.

The Guru is Brahma (The God of Creation)
The Guru is Vishnu (The God of Sustenance)
The Guru is Shiva (The God of Annihilation)

Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo
Ong Namo : I Bow to the creative power – divine energy – force, that created this entire universe, this cosmos
Guru Dev Namo : I bow to the great divine teacher that is within me.
Its a powerful mantra to start Kundalini Yoga. We all came from that same source, and the part of that source, that energy, that wisdom is also inside alll of us. So this mantra allows us to take our attention inside, search of the wisdom inside.
